Job summary

Howden UK Brokers Limited in Witney is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team. You will help ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time while supporting our financial controls in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Witney office, with a hybrid working arrangement. This role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills and experience with ERP systems; proficiency in Excel and data handling is

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
• Experience using finance systems or ERP platforms (Kanbina or Unit4) would be beneficial.
• Good Excel and general data-handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Check approvals and supporting documentation in line with company policies.
• Manage invoice workflows and follow up on outstanding approvals where needed.
• Build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues by responding to queries professionally and promptly.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Support payment runs, reconciliations, and month-end activities.
• Escalate any issues or exceptions to the Accounts Payable Manager when appropriate.
• Help to maintain strong financial controls and compliance within the accounts payable function.
