Job summary

Construction & Civils Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team based at Eurocentral, Motherwell. The role covers purchase ledger, supplier payments and payroll-related processing.

The ideal candidate will have prior accounts payable experience, payroll experience, and strong Excel and accounting system skills to support month-end processes and supplier queries in a fast-paced civil engineering contracting environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger
• Payroll experience
• Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance/accounting systems
• Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proactive and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and on time
• Match invoices against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and process supplier payment runs
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding items
• Respond to supplier and internal payment queries
• Set up and maintain supplier accounts
• Assist with month-end accounts payable processes
• Support payroll processing and administration
• Check payroll information, timesheets and related documentation
• Maintain accurate financial records and approvals
• Liaise with colleagues, suppliers and operational teams
• Provide general support to the wider finance team
