We’re proud to be supporting a well-established and respected organisation at their Head Office in Carlisle, as they look to welcome an Accounts Payable Clerk to their busy finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong accounts experience and excellent stakeholder skills to step into a senior role and make a real impact.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as a senior point of contact for suppliers and internal teams
• Accurately process and code supplier invoices in line with company procedures
• Oversee weekly supplier payment runs and manage employee expenses
• Assist with statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
• Lead on internal training and support for the Accounts Payable team
• Promote Accounts Payable automation tools and support with process improvements
• Support the Accounts Payable Supervisor with workload distribution and achieving team targets
• Champion change and contribute to a positive, proactive finance culture
• Maintain compliance with company policies and financial controls
  

About you:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced Accounts Payable environment
• Strong Excel skills (including Pivot Tables and VLookUps)
• Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
• Comfortable supporting colleagues and training across different seniority levels
• Positive, proactive attitude with a strong eye for detail
• Driven to make improvements and contribute to team success
• A practical problem-solver who takes initiative
