Job Description:

We are exclusively engaged in supporting a rapidly growing start-up based in Milton Keynes, looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their high-performing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic business during a period of consistent growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices.
  • Verifying invoice data against Excel records and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensuring timely payment processing.
  • Responding promptly to finance inquiries.
  • Providing ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Reconciling purchase ledger accounts and addressing overpayments.
  • Obtaining necessary invoice authorizations.
  • Processing invoices using Xero accounting software.
  • Ensuring payments are made on schedule.
  • Reconciling accounts regularly.
  • Processing monthly payroll for approximately 30 employees.
  • Handling payroll queries and reconciling with HMRC gateway.
  • Posting daily payments in Xero.
  • Assisting with audit queries related to transactional processing.

Candidate requirements:

  • Possession of AAT Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in purchase ledger or accounts assistant roles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with non-accountants.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred but not essential.

This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week in the office.
