Job summary

Austin Rose in Birmingham is seeking an Accountancy Manager to lead an experienced accounts team and oversee a varied client portfolio. The role offers flexible working, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to work closely with Partners to shape department operations.

You will manage statutory accounts, review complex work, coach staff across levels, and collaborate with tax, audit and advisory colleagues to deliver holistic client solutions.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification with UK practice experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102.
• Experience leading and developing a team of accountants.
• Experience managing client portfolios and deadlines.
• Healthcare sector exposure is a plus but not essential.
• Proficient with accounting software and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of accounting clients, overseeing statutory accounts.
• Lead and develop a team of accountants.
• Review complex accounting assignments and ensure UK compliance.
• Coordinate workflow with other managers to meet deadlines.
• Act as a key client contact with technical accounting advice.
• Assist clients with accounting software and financial reporting improvements.
• Collaborate with tax, audit and advisory teams to deliver solutions.
• Work with Partners to improve efficiency and service.
