Job summary

WestonBrook Associates in Stanmore, Middlesex is seeking a qualified Accounts Manager to lead a varied client portfolio and develop a team of bookkeeping and accounts staff. The role offers significant client exposure, responsibility, and clear progression within a supportive environment.

The candidate will review statutory accounts, VAT, management accounts, and corporation tax while mentoring junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships. Hybrid working is possible.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing a client portfolio.
• Supervisory experience including reviewing junior staff.
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts and financial reporting.
• Experience reviewing VAT, management accounts, and corporation tax.
• Proficient with cloud-based software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational skills with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors.
• Review statutory accounts prepared by Semi-Seniors, Seniors and Bookkeepers prior to Partner sign-off.
• Review VAT returns, management accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior staff.
• Manage workflow and ensure timely delivery of assignments.
• Act as primary contact for clients and build strong relationships.
• Attend and contribute to client meetings with Partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and client experience.
• Support ongoing growth and development of the practice.
