Job summary

WestonBrook Associates in Bury St Edmunds is seeking an Accounts Senior to support a diverse client base across sectors. You will assist in statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and tax submissions, working with cloud-based systems.

You will mentor junior team members and help drive process improvements while delivering high-quality, personalised client service. A hybrid role with study support complements ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Background in statutory accounts, management accounts and VAT returns.
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software packages.
• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive, solutions-focused approach to client service.
• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA qualified, or qualified through practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Support a varied portfolio of businesses across multiple industries.
• Build strong relationships with clients and maintain regular contact.
• Manage bookkeeping activities using cloud-based accounting systems.
• Prepare and review VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and provide additional support to clients.
• Produce management information and bespoke financial reports.
• Prepare statutory accounts and associated working papers.
• Calculate corporation tax liabilities and preparing related submissions.
• Act as a trusted day-to-day liaison for client queries.
• Assist with development and mentoring of junior team members.
• Contribute to improvements in internal processes, systems and technology.
