Job summary

Sumer is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager in Coventry to lead client accounting and tax services within the Leigh Christou division. You will guide a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely statutory and management accounts and strong advisory support.

The role requires ACA or ACCA credentials, a robust UK practice background, and proven people leadership. A supportive team environment and opportunities for progression are offered.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified required.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, tax compliance and portfolio management.
• Experience reviewing work and developing junior team members.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage deadlines and priorities.
• Commercially minded, proactive and solutions-focused.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact and building strong relationships.
• Review and oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and tax compliance work.
• Provide proactive accounting, tax and business advice, supporting clients with growth objectives.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior team members, reviewing work and supporting their professional development.
• Manage workflow, budgets and deadlines to ensure high-quality client service and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Directors and Partners to identify opportunities for growth and delivery of client outcomes.
