Autograph Recruitment is seeking an Accounts Assistant Manager for a well-established accountancy practice in Chard, Somerset. This role offers the chance to manage a client portfolio while mentoring junior staff and collaborating closely with Directors.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an accountancy practice, be ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified, and possess strong communication skills. The position includes flexible working arrangements, private medical insurance, and commitment to employee wellbeing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accountancy within practice.
• Excellent client management and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and support junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients as the main point of contact.
• Prepare accounts, tax, and VAT returns.
• Support Directors with ad-hoc work and fee billing.
• Mentor junior team members and review accounts prepared by others.

Skills

Experience working within accountancy practice

Strong communication and client-facing skills

Confident managing deadlines and multiple priorities

Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Education

ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified
