George Blake Limited is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance team on a permanent basis. The role is hands-on, overseeing day-to-day accounting, month-end reporting across P&L and balance sheet, and regulatory returns, with a three-person team under your guidance.

You will work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and timely month-end close, while driving process improvements across the finance function.

Qualifikationen

• Full accounting qualification – ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Post-qualification experience in a hands-on finance or accounting role.
• Degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience with month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and regulatory returns.
• Experience in managing and developing a finance team.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail with multiple deadlines.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and ability to drive process improvements.

Finance Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join our client’s finance team on a permanent basis.

This is a hands-on and varied accounting role with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and the smooth running of key accounting processes.

Working closely with the Management Accountant, you will help deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting across the profit and loss account and balance sheet, while also taking responsibility for regulatory returns and managing a team of three.

This role would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys remaining close to the detail, leading a small team and getting involved across the wider finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records and effective financial controls.
• Coordinate month-end accounting activities alongside the Management Accountant, ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation.
• Ensure regulatory returns are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
• Manage, support and develop a finance team of three, promoting best practice and consistent delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and ways of working.
• Provide hands‑on support across the finance function as priorities and business requirements evolve.
• Support the wider business with accurate and reliable financial information when required.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:

• Full accounting qualification – ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Relevant post‑qualification experience within a hands‑on finance or accounting environment.
• A degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience across month‑end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and regulatory returns.
• Previous experience managing and developing a finance team.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• A proactive and collaborative approach with the confidence to improve processes and adapt to changing priorities.
