Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting an experienced Accounts & Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day finances from a busy West Midlands office. You will handle payroll, purchase and sales ledgers, VAT, PAYE and pensions, using Sage 50, with autonomy and a focus on accuracy and timely reporting to management.

This full-time role offers 34 hours per week with flexible scheduling and on-site parking. A friendly, stable team and pension are part of the benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven bookkeeping and accounts experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll.
• Confident managing accounts processes independently.
• Experience with invoicing, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, VAT, PAYE and pensions.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll and pension administration.
• Managing PAYE submissions and HMRC payments.
• Raising sales invoices and maintaining the sales ledger.
• Managing purchase ledger activities.
• Credit control and chasing outstanding payments.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll.
• Liaising with external accountants when required.
