Job summary

JHE & Partners in Huddersfield is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a standalone, permanent role. You will manage daily financial records, process invoices, expenses, and customer payments, and prepare payroll in line with HMRC requirements.

You will also perform bank reconciliations, manage accounts payable/receivable, produce monthly and year-end reports in Sage 50, and handle VAT returns while supporting budgeting and cash-flow forecasting.

Qualifications

• Standalone bookkeeping role requiring extensive bookkeeping experience.
• Payroll processing in line with HMRC requirements.
• Monthly and year-end reporting using Sage 50.
• VAT returns and cash-flow support.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily financial records accurately and confidentially.
• Process supplier invoices, staff expenses, and customer payments.
• Prepare and run a small payroll in line with HMRC requirements.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Produce monthly and year-end reports using Sage 50.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and management reporting.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
