Job summary

Streets is a modern accountancy practice with numerous UK offices, offering a supportive environment to develop your accounting career. You will assist with day‑to‑day bookkeeping, VAT work and payroll of a varied client portfolio across industries.

You will work alongside experienced professionals, benefit from full study support, and have the opportunity to progress through AAT/ACCA/ACA qualifications while developing technical and advisory skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' experience gained within a practice environment, looking to build on this and progress your career.
• Willingness to continue learning, whether that means continuing with existing AAT studies or starting them for the first time.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and colleagues.
• Proactive and organised approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Good problem-solving skills and a desire to understand the “why” behind the numbers.
• IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Good educational attainment, grade 5 upwards in English and Maths, and good A level results in related subjects

Responsibilities

• Detailing client information on to the in-house accounting system using both manual and computerised data.
• Preparing working papers to support financial statements.
• Preparing summaries of debtors, creditors, pre-payments and accruals.
• Preparing VAT reconciliations.
• Posting accounts to the system.
• Preparing bank reconciliations.
• Posting financial information onto the in-house accounting software.
• Assisting with MTD submissions.
• Working as part of our Trust team, including assisting with the preparation of trust tax returns.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with around one to two years' experience in practice to further develop their skills and progress their career in a supportive and professional environment. Whether you have already started your AAT studies or are looking to begin them, you will work alongside experienced accounting and audit professionals, assisting in the delivery of efficient and accurate accounting services to a varied portfolio of clients across different industries.

Key Responsibilities
