Job summary

Streets is a modern accountancy practice offering hands-on training for graduates and school leavers. You will assist in delivering accurate accounting services to a varied portfolio under supervision.

Based in our Colchester office, this full-time role provides study support towards AAT qualifications, exposure to financial statements, VAT work, and a clear pathway for growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, yet also work using own initiative when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of client financial statements including: detail client information on to in-house accounting system using both manual and computerised data.
  • Prepare working papers to support financial statements.
  • Prepare fixed asset register.
  • Prepare summary of debtors, creditors pre-payments and accruals.
  • Prepare VAT reconciliations.
  • Post accounts to the system and prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Post financial information onto the in house accounting software.
  • Prepare both draft income tax computations and corporation tax computations.
  • Prepare draft company corporation tax return computations.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts.
  • General administrative duties.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual starting their career in accountancy to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and professional environment. Working alongside experienced accounting and audit professionals, you will assist in delivering efficient and accurate accounting services to a varied portfolio of clients across different industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of client financial statements including:

This is an office-based role, full time 38.75 hours per week.
