Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd in Brighton is seeking an Accounts Associate to join our team based in Brighton. The role covers financial administration, bookkeeping, VAT returns, and supporting audit activities for a range of clients.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in an accountancy firm, a minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C (A levels preferred), and strong communication and attention to detail. Experience with Xero, Sage, Excel, Word and Outlook is desirable.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 years experience working in an Accountancy firm.
• Minimum of 5 GCSE's A-C but preferably A level qualified.
• Professional individual with good attention for detail.
• Software experience would include Xero/Sage, Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Good communicator both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Financial administration - Electronic Document Management and Hard copy filing.
• Companies House - Filing client documents with the Registrar of Companies.
• Bookkeeping Using Sage Accounting, Xero and Excel and preparing client books from source documents.
• Completing and filing VAT returns on behalf of clients.
• Audit - Support Audit department in preparation of files.
• Be a member of the audit teams which go on client site audit visits.
• Client Liaison Communicating with clients by telephone and email regarding their accounting matters.
• Supporting with general office duties including meeting and greeting office visitors and clients.
