Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with an established Bournemouth accountancy practice to recruit an Accounts Associate. The firm serves SMEs, charities and owner-managed businesses and emphasises development and progression.

You will work with experienced professionals in a collaborative environment, with hybrid working up to three days remote and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or actively studying towards qualification, with previous experience in an accountancy practice

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review year-end financial statements for a varied portfolio of clients
• Support advisory projects to improve clients' financial performance
• Collaborate with tax, audit and accounts teams to deliver a seamless client experience
• Manage own workload, plan assignments and support junior team members
• Build strong client relationships as a trusted point of contact

What will the Accounts Associate role involve?

• Preparing and reviewing year-end financial statements for a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Supporting a range of advisory projects, helping clients improve financial performance and achieve their business goals
• Working closely with colleagues across tax, audit and accounts teams to deliver a seamless client experience
• Managing your own workload effectively, planning assignments and supporting the development of junior team members
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted point of contact and delivering exceptional service

Suitable Candidate for the Accounts Associate vacancy:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or actively studying towards qualification, with previous experience gained within an accountancy practice environment
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Comfortable using Excel, Word and accounting software; previous experience with CCH or similar accounts production systems would be advantageous
• Confident communicator who enjoys building professional relationships with both clients and colleagues
• Motivated, ambitious and eager to continue developing professionally within a supportive team environment
