Job summary

HB Partners Limited is seeking qualified Practice Accountants (AAT, ATT, ACCA or ACA) to join its established Portsmouth-based team, delivering accounting and tax services to a broad portfolio of small business clients.

You will mentor staff, review work, manage client portfolios, liaise with HMRC and lead year-end meetings. The role offers hybrid working (two days remote) with CPD support and clear opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Full membership of a chartered professional body (AAT, ATT, ACCA or equivalent).
• A minimum of five years' experience in practice, managing a broad client base.
• Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, DEXT and FreeAgent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, submitting and reviewing accounts and tax returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies, including VAT and CIS where required
• Providing training, mentorship and technical guidance to the accounting team, reviewing their work and supporting technical development
• Advising clients on tax efficiency, cashflow, budgeting and pricing
• Leading year-end client meetings and conducting client fee reviews
• Acting as the primary point of liaison between clients and HMRC
• Managing a portfolio of clients

The practice provides accounting and tax services to a broad portfolio of small business clients, and is looking for technically strong, client-focused professionals to support its continued growth.
