Job summary

Astute Recruitment are working with Derby-based business to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. The role supports the wider accounting function with exposure to Purchase Ledger, subcontractor accounts, payroll support, CIS and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate will have solid transactional finance experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently as part of a close-knit team. Salary up to £31,000 with a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Assistant or similar transactional finance role
• Good purchase ledger and general accounting experience
• Construction sector experience would be highly advantageous
• Experience with CIS and subcontractor accounts would be beneficial
• Payroll and timesheet experience would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Inputting and processing purchase ledger invoices
• Setting up subcontractor orders and processing subcontractor payments
• Preparing subcontractor and purchase ledger payment runs
• Supporting weekly timesheet calculations and payroll
• Completing CIS returns
• Petty cash analysis
• Balancing purchase ledger, subcontractor, cost and nominal ledgers
• Completing bank reconciliations and journals
• Preparing payment due reports and cashflow forecasts
• Filing, archiving and maintaining accurate financial records
• Handling finance queries via phone and email
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties
