Job summary

K H Recruitment Limited in Uckfield seeks an experienced Accounts Assistant for a small construction-sector finance team. You will handle day-to-day accounting, CIS payments, purchase ledgers, payroll support, and month-end tasks.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous accounts/finance experience
• Essential CIS payments experience
• Strong Excel and online systems skills
• Good numerical ability, accuracy and attention to detail
• Well-organised, self-motivated and able to manage priorities
• Professional communication and teamwork in a small team
• AAT Level 2/3 or accounting degree in progress or completed

Responsibilities

• Process purchase ledger invoices, matching to POs and liaising with suppliers
• Process weekly subcontractor payments and manage CIS payments
• Support weekly payroll processing for site operatives
• Complete month-end reconciliations and assist with general accounting duties
• Liaise with site foremen to confirm operative bookings and ensure payments
• Manage shared finance mailbox, respond to queries and follow up information
• Maintain accurate financial records using internal databases and online systems
• Provide cover for colleagues and support additional finance tasks
