Job summary

Reed Practice is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our client's friendly Business Team in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently studying towards ACA or ACCA who is looking to gain broad exposure to a varied client portfolio while receiving ongoing training, mentoring and support.

You'll support the preparation of financial accounts and tax returns while developing your technical expertise within a respected practice environment, handling bookkeeping, VAT, and

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 qualification.
• ACA or ACCA study underway.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and cloud‑based accounting software.
• Experience in an accountancy practice is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Assist with corporation tax computations and returns.
• Support personal, partnership and business tax returns.
• Complete bookkeeping assignments and account reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with Making Tax Digital requirements.
• Support production of management accounts and financial reporting.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and answer queries.
• Maintain accurate working papers and client records.
• Work with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CCH.
• Collaborate with the Business Services team to deliver client outcomes.
