Job description

This role will be a temporary position to cover a period of Maternity leave. Your role as the Accounts Assistant will be to support with all aspects of Accounts Payable, Receivable, Reconciliations, and some support with month-end processes.

Client Details

This company is a small but established and stable business operating in the construction industry. They have a small team of 4 based just outside Newbury, with team members who have been with the business for many years. The team is easy to work with and maintains an open and supportive environment, providing training and assistance as needed.

Description

The key duties of the Accounts Assistant will include:

  1. Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  2. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  3. Processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  4. Reconciling bank statements and managing petty cash.
  5. Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
  6. Assisting with audits and tax filings.
  7. Providing administrative support to the finance department.
Profile

The ideal candidate will be able to commute to the Newbury area and have experience in a comprehensive Accounts role. Experience supporting a small team in various bookkeeping functions is preferred.
