Accounts Assistant

About the Accounts Assistant Role: You’ll be an essential part of a close-knit, high-performing team where your skills will be valued and developed.During the probation period, the role is fully office-based to ensure you receive the best support, training and integration into our team.After successfully completing probation, you can choose between a hybrid working model (3 days in the office, 2 from home) or staying fully office-based — whichever suits you best— along with flexible start and finish times, giving you greater control over your working day.

What The Accounts Assistant Will Do
- Prepare and manage invoices, VAT returns, payroll and bookkeeping duties
- Produce trial balances, monthly management accounts, budgets and cash flow forecasts
- Carry out credit control, prepare payment runs, costings and pricing
- Prepare and submit year-end accounts and self-assessment tax returns
- Help configure and improve financial processes and procedures
- Collaborate on a range of financial operations within the accounts department
- Take on additional ad-hoc tasks as needed — no two days are the same!
What We’re Looking For
- Level 4 AAT UK qualified (or ACCA UK part-qualified/qualified)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role in the UK
- Minimum 1 year of payroll experience in the UK
- Solid grasp of double-entry bookkeeping and financial accounting
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, SageCloud, Sage50 Accounts and QuickBooks
- Experience in the domiciliary care sector is highly desirable
Accounts Assistant Key Skills
- Excellent English communication skills — written and spoken
- Confident and courteous in client interactions
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
- Highly organised with brilliant attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive and disciplined with excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage a dynamic workload
Accounts Assistant Essential Requirements
- Must be based in Bournemouth/Poole and have the right to work in the UK
- Must be willing to work full-time from the Bournemouth office during probation
