Accounts Assistant: 6-month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Huntingdon

Salary: Competitive

A supplier of high-quality metals and materials, the company specialises in the research and development sectors with a strong focus on science and industry. Their technical teams have contributed to scientific breakthroughs in nuclear fusion, the fight against COVID-19, and space exploration probes reaching Saturn.

Established in London in 1946, they now supply materials globally and have offices in the UK, France, Germany, USA, and China. Backed by the prestigious Private Equity firm Battery Ventures, they are pursuing an exciting growth strategy with ambitious merger and acquisition plans.

The Role

The Accounts Assistant ensures accurate and timely processing of account records. This support role covers the entire finance function, primarily focusing on customer credit management, aged debtor chasing, transactional work, month-end close procedures, and supporting finance leadership.

Skills And Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience and a willingness to learn, with teamwork and cross-department collaboration skills. Experience in financial reconciliations.
  • Understanding of accounting processes.
  • Ability to exercise initiative.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and quick learner.
  • Good Excel skills for report manipulation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
