Working within the Safran UK Finance team, the Accounts Assistant will support the Financial Controller in the provision of timely and accurate financial information, ensure adherence to group finance procedures and internal controls, and play a pivotal role in the creation & communication of financial reporting.
Safran UK is based in Gloucester and operates the UK Shared Service Centre putting service delivery at the centre of the business and includes Transactional Finance, Indirect Procurement, HR and Tax and International Mobility management departments. What will I be doing?
You'll work closely alongside the Financial Controller to facilitate a wide range of financial activities ranging from general finance, with an oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities & Duties include:
- Assist management accounting tasks such as journal posting, accruals/prepayments, cashflow forecasting, and preparation for audits
- Carrying out various month end tasks such as preparing file for month end reporting e.g. GRNI analysis and Bank Reconciliations.
- Ownership of sales invoice processing
- VAT Returns are completed and submitted for Safran UK and a small JV.
- Management of expenses process, ensuring that everything is in place for the successful processing and payment of employee expenses.
- Management of SUK Generic Mailbox and dealing with all incoming queries.
What do I need to succeed in this role?
- AAT Level 2
- Broad understanding of AR & AP Ledgers and general Accounting.
- Proficient with MS Excel including v-lookups and pivot tables.
- Able to work with, influence and communicate with wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficient administration, numerical and organisational skills.
- Analytical skills covering written, graphic, numerical & statistical information.
