Job summary

Hedin Automotive BMW & MINI in North London, East London, and Kent is hiring an Accounts Assistant to support daily accounting and reconciliation tasks within a busy finance team. You will process payments and receipts, reconcile ledgers, assist with AP/AR, and help prepare reports.

The role is office-based with standard hours (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5pm) and a salary of £27,000 per annum. Knowledge of Kerridge/Drive and studying toward an accounting qualification are preferred to support career

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Ideally studying toward an Accountancy qualification or part/full AAT.
• Motor trade experience would be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

Responsibilities

• Process daily bank payments and receipts; maintain ledgers.
• Reconcile bank and vehicle funding accounts.
• Manage vehicle purchase ledgers.
• Prepare month-end reconciliation and nominal ledger support.
• Produce weekly and monthly financial reports, analysis and cashflow information.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and journal processing.
• Use advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) to analyse data.
• Identify/report errors; support process improvements.
• Provide general finance team support and ad hoc duties.

THE MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

• Processing daily bank payments and receipts while maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers
• Reconciling bank and vehicle funding accounts
• Managing vehicle purchase ledger accounts
• Preparing month-end reconciliations and supporting nominal ledger processes
• Producing weekly and monthly financial reports, analysis, and cashflow information
• Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal processing
• Using advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, to analyse financial data
• Identifying and resolving reporting errors while supporting continuous process improvements
• Providing general support to the finance team and undertaking ad hoc duties as required

YOUR PROFILE.

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
• Ideally studying towards an Accountancy qualification or part/full AAT qualified (or equivalent accounting qualification)
• Motor trade experience would be advantageous, as would a working knowledge of Kerridge/Drive
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team

SALARY AND HOURS.

• £27,000 per annum
• Working hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
• The Accounts Assistant role is fully office based
