Job description

Smartax Consultancy Limited is a family-run Accountancy business looking for a female applicant studying or recently finished an Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration degree. A successful, serious, and loyal applicant with clear goals for the next 2 to 5 years will be given suitable training and a skilled worker sponsor if required. Remote working and the use of personal mobile phones during working hours are not allowed for this job. The official office working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Main roles and responsibilities are as follows:

  1. Taking care of administrative tasks, such as correspondence, filing, printing, and scanning.
  2. Scheduling client appointments and managing important departmental deadlines.
  3. Maintaining accurate and detailed client records and creating new client files.
  4. Assisting with managing Payroll data to process month-end payroll filings for various clients.
  5. Supporting and managing HR records for various clients on Bright HR.
  6. Updating client records on Xero and IRIS Accounts elements software.
  7. Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations on Xero.
  8. Preparing and entering journals into the system once trained.
  9. Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties once trained.
  10. Analyzing bank statements to prepare trial balances using pivot tables, once trained.
  11. Keeping records and updating clients' profiles with NEST Pension provider.
  12. Answering clients' and employees' queries via email related to payroll, accounts, and HR.
