Manager - Recruiting Accounting Experts across Public Practice

Job Opportunity: Accounts and Audit Manager - Join a Growing Practice!

Are you an ACA or ACCA qualified professional with a passion for accounts? We're looking for an experienced Accounts and Audit Manager to join a dynamic, mid-tier practice. If you've got the expertise and drive to take ownership of a large, varied portfolio of clients, this could be the perfect role for you!

What's the role about?

  • Client Portfolio Management: You'll be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio, focusing 90% on accounts and 10% on audit work. Your main responsibilities will include overseeing statutory accounting and corporation tax, as well as collaborating with tax and cloud teams to deliver the best results for clients.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: You'll lead a team of audit and account seniors, semi-seniors, and trainees. You'll mentor and guide them through day-to-day work and staff reviews while ensuring quality service delivery. Plus, you'll work closely with the Partner and Associate Director, driving collaboration across teams.
  • Varied & Exciting Projects: Expect to be involved in ad-hoc sell-side due diligence, company restructures, and other diverse assignments that you'd typically find in a mid-tier firm. It's a role that offers lots of variety and opportunities to develop.
  • Process Improvement: You'll help streamline processes, ensuring that workflows are efficient and work is completed to a high standard, keeping clients happy and partners informed along the way.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience: At least 5 years of post-qualification experience (ACA/ACCA) in a similar role with knowledge of International Auditing Standards, FRS 102, CCH accounts production, and corporation tax. You'll also need solid experience using Xero and Excel for business plans and forecasts. (Audit experience is not essential).
  • Strong Communicator: This role requires someone who can build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels. You should be proactive, articulate, and able to think ahead.
  • Commercial Mindset: We need someone who's not just technically excellent but also commercially aware and organised, with the ability to anticipate needs and manage client expectations effectively.
  • Leadership: You'll need to be a strong leader with the ability to manage a team, offer constructive feedback, and provide training and mentoring for junior staff.

Key Responsibilities for an Accounts & Audit Manager:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring seamless delivery of audit, accounts, and tax services
  • Develop new systems and processes to enhance work efficiency
  • Lead audits and accounts jobs from planning to finalisation
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure timely project completion
  • Represent the firm, building relationships with clients and identifying new business opportunities
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, providing support and feedback

If you're ready to take the next step in your career and join a growing firm that offers a dynamic and supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you! Apply now and let's chat about how you can make an impact.
