Job summary

Housing Plus Group is seeking an Accountant – Rents & Service Charges in Telford with hybrid working (minimum one day in the office). The role focuses on accurate rent and service charge management, regulatory compliance and data integrity, reporting to the Finance Manager.

You will lead a small team, support audits, and drive continuous improvement in processes and controls to ensure transparency for customers and strong financial resilience.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent experience.
• Two years' experience in rent and service charge environment desirable.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Regulator guidance.
• Technical financial expertise with advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end rent and service charge cycle, including budgeting and year-end statements.
• Support rent setting processes and ensure compliance with Rent Standard.
• Maintain data integrity in housing management systems and support audits.
• Lead a small team of Assistant Accountants and drive continuous process improvement.
• Communicate with stakeholders and residents regarding charges and changes.
