The role suits a qualified AAT or part-qualified with CIMA/ACCA/ACA, strong debits/credits, attention to detail, and experience with month end, reconciliations and transactional finance. You will collaborate with internal teams and support statutory accounts.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified with CIMA/ACCA/ACA is preferred.
• Experience with month-end and reconciliations is essential.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail is required.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls is important.
• Experience supporting financial reporting and statutory accounts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of key aspects of the month end process.
• Prepare and post month end journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and manage the fixed asset register.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for month end and year end reporting.
• Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting controls.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and audit requirements.
• Work closely with internal teams to provide accurate financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.

A dynamic organisation in Bath is seeking an Accountant to join their central finance team and take responsibility for key areas of the financial close, reporting and accounting processes.

The role will suit a qualified AAT or part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with strong knowledge of credits and debits, excellent attention to detail and experience working across month end, reconciliations and transactional finance.

Key responsibilities of the Accountant position include:

• Take ownership of key aspects of the month end process
