Job summary

KCR, a dynamic organisation in the United Kingdom, is seeking a detail‑oriented finance assistant to support the Finance Manager and a busy finance team. This hybrid role offers flexibility and a collaborative environment where accuracy and timely reporting are valued.

You will help produce month-end and year-end figures, maintain cashflow forecasts, assist with payroll costing, and contribute to budgets, audits and financial controls.

Qualifications

  • Experience with month-end processes in a finance environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confident user of finance systems and Microsoft packages.
  • Part-qualified towards Level 4+ finance qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Positive, proactive approach with strong organisational skills.
  • Driven attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Confident communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the production of month end accounts, year-end accounts and preparation for external audit.
  • Produce and develop monthly departmental budget statements and financial reports.
  • Maintain and monitor detailed daily cashflow forecasts.
  • Assist with payroll costings.
  • Journal preparation.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support administration and development of finance systems and contract registers.
  • Manage external funding administration, including claims, evidence and contract interpretation.
  • Maintain fixed asset register.
  • Accruals and prepayments.
  • Oversee staff expenses and mileage processes.
  • Contribute to budget setting, financial planning and performance meetings.
  • Support internal audit processes and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with purchase order processes and wider finance team support.
