Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit an Accountant to join a busy finance team in Wimborne Minster, UK. You will handle financial reporting, budgeting and accounts for a diverse client portfolio, collaborating with colleagues across finance and operations.

Ideal candidates will have ACA/ACCA/CIMA or be studying toward it, solid Excel skills, and a proactive, relationship-building approach to developing technical accounting skills.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or working towards one.
• Experience preparing accounts and producing financial reports.
• Good Excel skills and understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work accurately while meeting deadlines.
• Proactive problem-solving and workload management.

Responsabilités

• Prepare annual accounts and year-end financial statements.
• Produce interim accounts and financial reports for clients.
• Work with operational colleagues to prepare and review budgets.
• Manage account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Review financial information when new client portfolios are introduced.
• Liaise with colleagues and clients to resolve accounting queries.
• Contribute to improvements in financial processes and wider projects.

This position offers much more than routine accounting. You’ll be involved in financial reporting, budgeting and managing the accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, working closely with colleagues across finance and operations.

What will you be doing?

• Preparing annual accounts and year-end financial statements.
• Producing interim accounts and financial reports for clients.
• Working with operational colleagues to prepare and review budgets.
• Managing account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Reviewing financial information when new client portfolios are introduced.
• Liaising with colleagues and clients to resolve accounting queries.
• Contributing to improvements in financial processes and supporting wider projects.

What experience will you need?

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be working towards one.
• Experience preparing accounts and producing financial reports.
• Good Excel skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• The ability to work accurately while meeting deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing your workload.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the business.

Experience gained in accountancy practice, property accounting or a similar financial reporting environment would be particularly relevant.
