Job summary

Venture Recruitment Partners has partnered with a successful construction business seeking an Accountant to join their finance team in Fareham. The role is office based and hands‑on, covering month‑end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and wider financial operations.

You will take ownership of key balance sheet areas, support the Finance Manager with management accounts and P&L reporting, and help drive process improvements within a busy finance function.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or actively studying towards one of these qualifications.
• Experience in an accounting or finance role with a good understanding of P&L and balance sheet accounting.
• Strong experience with balance sheet and bank reconciliations, including investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Good understanding of purchase and sales ledgers, invoicing, payment runs and general accounting processes.
• Experience with corporate card reconciliations, including accurate transaction coding and supporting documentation.
• Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and XLOOKUP.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Provide financial information and analysis to support commercial and management decision‑making.
• Contribute to process, control and system improvements, helping to strengthen the wider finance function.

We’re partnering with a successful construction business experiencing continued growth, as they look for an Accountant to join their finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is an office based, hands‑on role covering management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, month‑end reporting and wider financial operations. You will take ownership of key areas of the accounts while supporting the wider finance function and contributing to ongoing process improvements.
