Job summary

Autograph Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a qualified accountant in Cardiff. You will handle year-end accounts, tax compliance, VAT matters and digital submissions, with flexible hybrid working options. You'll use Xero, Sage and QuickBooks to deliver accurate client information while building strong relationships and expanding tax knowledge.

The role offers £35,000–£45,000 DOE, with flexible hours and hybrid working to suit your circumstances and client needs.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified with practice experience.
• Strong accounts preparation and tax compliance knowledge.
• Confident with personal, corporation tax and VAT.
• Experience using Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
• Able to explain complex information clearly to clients.
• Organised, proactive and committed to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review year-end accounts for a varied client base.
• Handle personal tax returns, partnership tax, corporation tax and CGT.
• Manage VAT returns and Making Tax Digital submissions.
• Use Xero, Sage and QuickBooks to prepare accurate financials.
• Support clients with bookkeeping queries and VAT matters.
• Provide practical tax and accounting guidance to clients.
• Build relationships and help clients meet ongoing accounting needs.

Role: Qualified Accountant

Salary: £35,000–£45,000 DOE

Are you a qualified accountant looking for a role where you can build on your experience, develop your tax knowledge and enjoy a good level of flexibility?

This is a great opportunity to join an established accountancy practice with a varied client base and a friendly, supportive team. You’ll have the chance to take ownership of your work, build strong client relationships and continue developing your technical skills, with flexibility around your working hours and the option to work from home.

You will be:

• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
• Handling personal tax returns, partnership tax, corporation tax and Capital Gains Tax
• Managing VAT returns and Making Tax Digital submissions
• Using accounting software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks to prepare accurate financial information
• Supporting clients with bookkeeping queries, year-end requirements and VAT matters
• Providing practical advice on tax compliance and general accounting queries
• Building relationships with clients and helping them meet their ongoing accounting and tax needs

About you:

• You’re ACA or ACCA qualified, with experience working in an accountancy practice
• You have a good understanding of accounts preparation and tax compliance
• You’re confident dealing with personal tax, corporation tax and VAT
• You have experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
• You enjoy working with clients and communicating complex information clearly
• You’re organised, proactive and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work
