Position Overview:

The Account Manager Wood and Composites position is expected to grow and retain H.B. Fuller's market share and customer base in key market segments while achieving profit sales targets. The Senior Account Manager is expected to be accountable for delivering annual business results, aligned with business plan, sales, CM and volume Growth.

This position requires role responsibilities aligned to at least three of the following five core characteristics:

  • Revenue responsibility: $5M-$10M
  • Account Complexity: Regional accounts require moderate customization and regular interaction.
  • Business Development Scope: 20%
  • Sales Cycle Length & Complexity: Long, consultative cycles with multiple stakeholders (6–12 months).
  • Product or Service Specialization: Specialized knowledge of technical products requiring advanced training or expertise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates an ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Technically competent and independently able to manage demonstrations and technical problem-solving.
  • Focused on growth (larger opportunities), and optimizing price and profitability.
  • Accountable for delivering results.
  • Ability to train & mentor entry / new sales roles.
  • Search sizeable new business matching the business strategy and profit standards.
  • Be recognized by customers as an expert both technical and commercially.
  • Works closely with the Inside Sales Manager, delegating the maintain tasks to focus on Growth.
  • Growth: focuses effort on delivering growth and maintains existing businesses to deliver the plan.
  • Negotiates pricing and margin (aligned with the business) using value selling and the flip. pricing tool to capture the optimum price and margin for HBF.
  • Embraces change and innovation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors or University Degree with a technical/mechanical, marketing, or chemistry background preferred
  • At least 5 years of relevant sales experience; related industry and B2B experience
  • Technically competent and independently able to manage demonstrations and technical problem-solving.
  • Focused on growth (larger opportunities) and optimizing price and profitability.
  • Accountable for delivering results.
  • Ability to train and mentor entry-level or new sales roles.
  • Demonstrates an ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs./25 kg
