Job summary

Tata Steel UK is seeking an Account Manager to join the Retail sales team in the UK. You will manage several large and medium retail accounts, driving growth and delivering exceptional service.

You will negotiate contracts, build lasting relationships with customers, and visit sites to understand needs, coordinating with operations, transport and supply chain to meet targets.

Job Title: Account Manager

Department: Distribution UK & Ireland

Location: Wednesfield (hybrid)

Salary: £35,000, depending on experience

Make a tangible impact:

As Account Manager within the Retail sales team, you will be responsible for managing several large and medium sized retail accounts, as well as building opportunities for new business development.

You will need to achieve monthly sales targets for your customers in line with our strategic objectives, ensuring the highest level of customer service and a professional approach in all customer communications.

As part of this role, you will also need to:

• Negotiate and implement sales contracts with customers covering prices, volumes and service level agreements, in line with targets and business capabilities.
• Establish and manage productive, professional relationships with customers
• Conduct customer visits

To be successful as Account Manager you will need significant knowledge of the steel industry, have strong account management and negotiation skills, and excel in building customer relationships. You will need a good understanding of activities in other functions of the business such as operations, transport and supply chain.

For this role it is also required to have:

• Skills in managing deadlines, timetables, and different priorities.
• Good networking and influencing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
