Job Title: Account Manager (Hybrid role)

Location: Chichester PO19 7DN

Salary: GBP35k to GBP45k d.o.e. plus GBP10k commission

Duration: Full time, Permanent

Sector: Sustainability / Environmental

A leading water management business specialising in the sustainable use of water is looking for a vibrant individual with drive and energy to succeed, someone looking to accelerate their career. Preference will be given to individuals with either experience or a strong interest in Sustainability.

Overall responsibilities for the Account Manager:

Manage the client’s relationship with customers, ensuring the service is delivered to contract and to agreed SLAs. Understand the customers' key drivers and the client deliverables to recognize opportunities for organic growth. Ensure customer projects are delivered on time and within budget, and that all client teams understand the customer outcomes.

Key Tasks for the Account Manager:

  • Manage customer contracts, ensuring contract terms are met.
  • Ensure the client’s team meets deliverables, responds efficiently to requests, and the service exceeds customer expectations.
  • Utilize all client systems to plan accounts for each customer, with support from the Head of Commercial, Account Directors, and other departments.
  • Manage projects effectively, including recording, analysis, reporting, and administration from start to finish.
  • Conduct regular customer meetings to ensure contracts and projects run efficiently and to report updates.
  • Meet with new customers upon account allocation and prior to handover by Sales and Marketing to agree deliverables.
  • Develop onboarding project plans with internal stakeholders.
  • Keep customers informed of progress regularly and maintain ongoing contact to discuss contracts, industry developments, areas for improvement, and upselling opportunities.
  • Manage budgets and invoicing processes effectively.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Team to ensure invoices are accurate and timely, and support aged debt collection if necessary.
  • Understand contractual terms and negotiate renewals with support from the Account Directors, Head of Commercial, or Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Evaluate opportunities for upselling or expanding existing projects and collaborate with the team to develop these opportunities.
  • Identify potential for larger projects from small opportunities.
  • Support Sales and Marketing by attending events and conferences.
  • Provide leads, suggest new market sectors, and offer customer insights to aid sales and marketing efforts.
  • Report regularly to the Account Director, Head of Commercial, and/or Chief Commercial Officer on progress, successes, and issues.
