Job summary

NFU Mutual in Newport is seeking an Account Executive for a full-time, on-site role. You will manage a portfolio of commercial and personal accounts, handle enquiries, renewals and new business opportunities, and deliver high levels of service and retention.

The ideal candidate will have GCSEs, strong IT and communication skills, a positive can-do attitude, compliance awareness, and the ability to learn systems and products; progression to corporate/commercial roles is possible within 2–3 years.

Circa £26,000 - £31,000 per year Salary (dependant on experience) Full-Time position Permanent Contract Location: Newport 35 Hours Monday to Friday

About the role

The Account Executive is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Newport. This role is responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing the delivery of insurance and financial services, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing a portfolio of commercial and personal accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and developing tailored solutions in line with NFU Mutual’s products and standards.

The Role

• Handling general customer enquiries, policy alterations and renewal reviews by phone.
• Selling new NFU Mutual insurance policies; both commercial and personal.
• Introducing NFU Mutual Financial Services products to new and existing customers.
• Provide support to the rest of the team when needed.
• Support with general office administration duties.

About you

What we’re looking for: People who can demonstrate the drive, energy and enthusiasm required to provide a fantastic customer experience to our existing and prospective clients. A proficient IT user with good interpersonal skills and communication skills. A positive ‘can do’ attitude to problem solving and solution finding and like working in a customer support and sales environment. You will enjoy meeting compliance requirements and having a meticulous eye for detail is essential. Minimum of GCSE grade C or better in Maths and English (or equivalent). The ability to learn new systems, products, processes and skills.

The position is based in the Newport Office, conveniently located just off the M4 motorway at Langstone Business Park. There is also further progression available for the right candidate to progress into a Corporate/Commercial level position within 2-3 years.
