We have a great opportunity for an experienced & motivated Account Executive with a general Commercial background, to join our team here at Jensten Group. You’ll be based at our Gosforth office in Newcastle, and reporting to the Sales Manager. The main purpose of the role is to retain and grow an existing book of business for the surrounding areas, with a focus on growth. The book consists of long-standing clients with strong relationships with us. Key objectives & responsibilities include:

  • Offer and present insurance solutions, including policies and risk management solutions, aiming to secure renewals and new business. Communicate regularly with colleagues and managers to enhance team performance, raise concerns, and propose solutions.
  • Identify and pursue cross-selling, up-selling, and similar opportunities. Utilize all leads provided by the company and develop new ways to increase quote volume.
  • Achieve or exceed targets for Quotes/Sales/Income from all marketing sources, including personal prospecting activities.
  • Understand clients’ business operations, opportunities, risks, and their approach to risk management and insurance.
  • Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

About you

As an Account Executive, you may inherit an existing book of business to manage and grow, alongside developing your own connections. You should be able to build and strengthen relationships through client visits and regular communication. A passion for providing solutions and spotting opportunities to benefit clients is essential. You will also have:

  • Insurance industry experience, especially in Commercial insurance (essential)
  • A passion for new business development (essential)
  • An existing client base to bring and grow (ideally)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong telephone manner and relationship-building skills
  • Drive and eagerness to learn and develop in insurance and sales
  • Experience in a similar role working with insurers and clients
  • Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task, including updating systems and admin
  • Knowledge of Acturis system (preferably)
