Job summary

Worcester City Council’s Housing & Homelessness Service is seeking an Accommodation Officer to manage the temporary accommodation portfolio, conduct sign-ups, inspections, tenancy management and resident support. You will liaise with residents and partners to resolve challenges and safeguard accommodation.

The role requires a UK driving licence, DBS clearance, and ability to travel across Worcester, including lone working from city centre offices. A proactive, supportive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, homelessness, tenancy sustainment, or a similar environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with residents from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong case management and organisational abilities; able to work with partner organisations and support services.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.
• An Enhanced or Standard DBS check is typically mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Council's temporary accommodation portfolio, including sign-ups, inspections, tenancy management and resident support activities.
• Work closely with residents and partner agencies to address challenges and sustain accommodation and achieve positive housing outcomes.
• Travel around the city and work from city centre offices, with some lone working arrangements.
