Job summary

The Home Improvement Team at Bury Council seeks a Home Improvement Officer to deliver comprehensive surveying and project management for disabled adaptations, ensuring safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency in homes. You will translate OT guidance into practical designs while coordinating with clients, contractors, and housing partners.

You will manage projects from survey through to payment authorisation, working within building regulations, health & safety standards, and funding

Qualifications

• Qualification in construction or surveying is essential.
• Professional accreditation (RICS/CIAT) desirable.
• Full driving licence required.
• Enhanced DBS check will be undertaken.

Responsibilities

• Survey residential properties and prepare specifications and schedules of work.
• Oversee contractors on site and authorise interim and final payments.
• Translate Occupational Therapy recommendations into practical, inclusive designs.
• Manage multiple projects ensuring compliance with regulations and funding criteria.
