Job summary

Red Bull Powertrains is offering a 1-year placement within the Electronics & ERS Engineering Design teams in the UK. You will be immersed in cutting-edge facilities, contributing to development of ERS components and power electronics with real testing and data analysis.

Successful undergraduates will have strong fundamentals in electrical/electronic engineering, mathematics or physics, familiarity with CAD/FEA/CFD, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical/electronic engineering principles.
• Ability to apply mathematical methods to real problems.
• Familiarity with CAD/FEA/CFD or system modelling (training provided).
• Experience with electronic design and testing routines.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all stages of the engineering process from concept to live testing.
• Apply design principles to develop power unit components.
• Support design, testing and development of ERS electronic components.
• Assist with power electronics design including inverters and DC/DC converters.
• Build, test and debug electronic components and systems.
• Develop and improve test rigs and software (LabVIEW, TestStand).
• Create and update test procedures for electronics.
• Analyse test data and assist fault investigation to improve reliability.
• Prepare risk assessments and follow safety procedures.
• Interpret and report data through technical docs for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Technical and Testing teams to deliver solutions.
• Gain exposure to the 2027 F1 season and contribute to Red Bull Powertrains.
