Job summary

Red Bull Technology is offering undergraduate placement opportunities in their Electronics team at the Milton Keynes campus. The year-long placement runs from summer 2027 and provides exposure to Formula 1 engineering, collaborating with Design and Production to develop on-car and off-car hardware solutions.

You will be supported by experienced engineers, with CAD training provided. Candidates ideally studying Electrical/Electronics degrees and returning to university for at least one year after

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent.
• Strong computer literacy and aptitude for hands-on tasks.
• Willingness to return to university for at least 1 year after the placement.

Responsibilities

• Design on-car hardware solutions, pit gear and rig equipment.
• Create loom and sensor drawings, system diagrams and design standards.
• Use test equipment in the Test and Inspection facility to validate designs.
• Perform fault investigations on sensors and actuators.
• Assist in general workshop and car build tasks.

Job description

Red Bull Technology have exciting opportunities for undergraduate students to spend a year as part of our Electronics team. The placements will run from the summer of 2027 for one year and offer the opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm and apply your knowledge in an open and dynamic environment.

Based on our Milton Keynes campus, this placement opportunity will give you full exposure to real Formula 1 engineering. Working closely with the Design and Production functions of the department, you’ll be producing on-car and off-car hardware design solutions to meet the requirements of our racing team and other functions across the business.

The main accountabilities of the role are:

• Designing on-car hardware solutions, pit gear and rig equipment
• Creating loom and sensor drawings, system diagrams, Codes of Practice and Design standards.
• The use of a wide range of test equipment in our Test and Inspection facility
• Performing fault investigations on sensors, actuators and systems
• Assisting, where required, in all general workshop and car build tasks
• You should also be prepared to carry out hands‑on tasks

You will be supported by experienced Electronic and Electrical Systems Design Engineers as required and CAD Training will be provided.

The successful student will preferably be studying towards an Electrical / Electronics related degree and be highly computer literate. You must be returning to university to study for at least 1 year after your placement year.

The placement will be for 1 year, starting in the summer of 2027.
