Job summary

Georgetown University’s Berkley School of Nursing seeks an Academic Advisor to provide comprehensive, student-centered advising for a diverse undergraduate and graduate population. Grounded in the Jesuit tradition and cura personalis, the advisor supports students in achieving academic, personal, and professional goals.

The advisor collaborates with faculty and campus partners to guide students through curriculum planning, policies, and challenges that impact success.

Qualifications

• At least 5–7 years in a higher education setting.
• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Experience supervising diverse teams preferred.
• Health education experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Banner, Cognos, and Salesforce CRM.
• Strong organizational skills with precise attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent listening, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on course registration and degree progression.
• Guide curriculum planning and navigation of academic policies.
• Interface with Registrar, Joint Office of Graduate Studies, and Global Education.
• Support study abroad, internships, graduate school admissions, and career counseling.
• Assist in mentoring a diverse student population across 19 programs.
