Job summary

ABP FOOD GROUP is seeking Production Operatives to join the Abattoir team in Lurgan. You will work in a fast-paced meat production environment, with full training provided to develop skills and progression opportunities. Location is on site at Annesborough Industrial Estate, Lurgan, with competitive pay and opportunities for advancement within a leading European agri-food business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate knife skills for skilled roles or willingness to learn in semi-skilled/trainee roles.
• Good communication and team collaboration.
• Ability to work on own initiative while contributing to team goals.
• Good attention to detail and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure meat products are produced to ABP and customer specifications.
• Maintain production deadlines and operate safely with proper PPE.
• Seek training to improve skills and efficiency.

We are currently looking for Production Operatives to join our successful team within the Abattoir. Candidates will be ideally suited to a fast paced food manufacturing environment and able to work as part of a team.

As an Abattoir Operative you will be involved in the production of meat products for leading supermarkets. Full training will be given to all employees with minimum experience to enable them to progress their skills and earnings.

Team Members will be responsible for:

• Ensuring carcasses are dressed and trimmed according to ABP and Customer specifications as directed by the Abattoir Manager/Supervisor
• Ensuring work is carried out to the best of operative's abilities to meet production deadlines
• Seeking training to maintain skills and remain up to date with best practice
• Ensuring that all parts of the carcase are trimmed to produce optimum production yield while adhering to legislation and company requirements
• Working as part of a team and taking responsibility for own work
• Carrying out all procedures in a safe manner in accordance with training
• Always complying with company policy and procedures on safe food handling and hygiene
• Maintaining responsibility for operational effectiveness of equipment and machinery and report faults to supervisor in a timely manner
• Maintaining personal PPE
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties assigned

To become a team member ideally you will have:
