Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd invites applications for a Permanent, Full-Time general operative role at our Stirling site. The successful candidate will join a busy team in a meat processing environment, with training provided and opportunities to rotate through duties after initial training.

The role requires reliability, basic knife skills, and a willingness to learn. Working hours are standard Monday to Friday days, with a focus on safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Process cattle in line with health, safety and animal welfare standards.
• Assist with duties: stunning, flanking, legging, trimming, back saw, hide removal, preparatory trimming.
• Contribute to a team to meet production deadlines with maximum yield and minimal waste.
• Engage in training and take ownership of personal development.
• Maximise yield and minimise waste to ensure efficient production.
• Undertake required duties safely and participate in training and communication.

Our abattoir team are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are keen to work in this area. Skilled or unskilled, this is an excellent opportunity to develop and learn new skills within a great working environment, where you will have the opportunity to rotate around a number of different jobs (after training) and become a multi-skilled operative.

Working Hours are Monday to Friday working 6am until finish. Working around 48 hours per week.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the processing of cattle in accordance with health and safety and animal welfare standards

Duties may include: stunning; flanking, legging, trimming, back saw, hide removal, preparatory trimming.

You will contribute as part of one team to ensure that cattle are processed in adherence with Animal Welfare Requirements, Food Safety legislation, and customer specification

To ensure that production deadlines are met and yields maximised with minimal contamination and wastage

To embrace training opportunities and take ownership of your own personal development

You will be responsible for maximising the yield of the product and minimising waste to ensure production is as efficient as possible.

You will be required to undertake such duties as required in a safe manner

You will also be required to fully engage in all aspects of training and communication.
