Job summary

Academics in Todmorden seeks an experienced ABA Tutor to support children with autism and additional needs in specialist SEN settings. You will work one-to-one or in small groups, applying ABA strategies to develop communication, learning, and independence.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and wider SEN teams to deliver a consistent approach throughout the school day, tailoring activities to each pupil and helping them reach achievable targets.

Do you have experience supporting children or young people with autism, communication difficulties, or additional needs? Are you passionate about using your specialist skills to help pupils engage, develop, and become more independent?

We are looking for ABA Tutors to work within specialist SEN settings in and around Todmorden, providing consistent and individualised support to pupils with a range of needs.

The Role… ABA Tutor

As an ABA Tutor in Todmorden, you will work directly with pupils who benefit from targeted and structured support. You may work one-to-one or with small groups, helping children develop their communication, interaction, learning, and independence.

Using your experience of ABA approaches, you will adapt activities around individual needs, reinforce positive progress, and help pupils work towards achievable targets. You'll work closely with teaching staff and other SEN professionals to provide a consistent approach throughout the school day.

Your role may include:

• Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group support
• Working with pupils with autism, communication needs, and other SEND
• Using ABA strategies and positive reinforcement within everyday learning
• Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence
• Helping pupils remain focused and engaged with activities
• Supporting and monitoring individual learning and developmental targets
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider SEN teams

You’ll Be…

• Experienced as an ABA Tutor or have relevant experience using ABA-based approaches
• Confident supporting children or young people with autism and additional needs
• Patient, consistent, and able to respond to each pupil as an individual
• Comfortable providing focused one-to-one support
• A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Interested in ABA Tutor opportunities within specialist SEN settings across Todmorden
