Job summary

The Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a 999 Call Handler to join the Clinical Contact Centre Team. You will input details rapidly and accurately onto a computer system, and liaise with the public and Health Care Professionals, with emphasis on clear communication and customer care.

The role is a high-pressure, team-based environment. You must be over 18 to apply; Welsh language skills are desirable, and sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English.
• AMPDS course to be undertaken on commencement.
• NVQ Level 2 in a professionally related subject.
• Ability to work within clearly defined limits.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the public and Health Care Professionals with strong communication.
• Input details quickly and accurately onto computer systems.
• Work in a pressurised environment with good interpersonal skills.
• Work an alternating shift pattern including out of hours, bank holidays and weekends.
