Job summary

Welsh Ambulance Service University NHS Trust is seeking a 999 Call Handler to join the Clinical Contact Centre Team in Cwmbran. The role involves inputting details quickly and accurately, handling calls from the public and health professionals with strong communication skills, and working in a high-pressure environment.

Shifts are 37.5 hours per week with variable patterns covering 24/7. Welsh language skills are desirable, and applicants from Welsh or English backgrounds are welcome.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Ability to work within clearly defined limits.
• Ability to add value and exercise own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with members of the public and Health Care Professionals; strong communication and customer care required.
• Work alternating shift patterns including out of hours, bank holidays and weekends.
