Job summary

Pertemps Royal Mail is recruiting experienced 7.5 Tonne Drivers to work in the Leicester area. This is a temporary position offering consistent, ongoing work with a well-known national delivery company.

Ideal candidates are reliable, customer-focused and able to work independently outdoors, with a DBS check and Tachograph card as part of the requirements.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with C1 entitlement (7.5T) and no more than 6 points.
• Experience driving a 7.5T vehicle is essential.
• Good knowledge of York and surrounding areas.
• Physically able to lift parcels up to 20kg.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Ability to pass a DBS (criminal background) check.
• Valid Tachograph card is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage all items on the route securely, including handling election materials.
• Comply with Parcelforce business standards for deliveries (including restricted items).
• Work outdoors with a customer-service focus on time-sensitive parcels.

Pay Rate: £16.43 per hour

Hours: Up to 35 hours a week

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Shift Times:10am - 6pm

Requirements

Full UK manual driving licence with category C1 entitlement (7.5T) with no more than 6 points.

Previous experience driving a 7.5T vehicle essential.

Good knowledge of York and surrounding areas.

Physically fit with ability to lift parcels up to 20kg.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Ability to pass a DBS (criminal background) check.

You will also need to provide a Valid Tachograph card.

As a 7.5 Tonne delivery driver, you're expected to securely manage all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
