Job summary

First Fence on Canvey Island is hiring a Class 2 HGV driver to join our depot team. You will be responsible for timely UK deliveries, loading and securing goods, and ensuring vehicle readiness with pre/post trip checks. A strong commitment to road safety and customer service is essential.

The role requires valid UK Class 2 Licence, CPC, Tachograph Card, and knowledge of driving hours rules. Physical fitness and good communication are a must for daily operations at our Canvey Island location.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 HGV Driving Licence (held for a minimum of 1 year).
• Valid UK Driver CPC Card.
• Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card.
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of UK Driving Hours rules.
• Physical fitness and strength.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate collections/delivery of products throughout the UK whilst adhering to road safety regulations.
• Carry out pre/post vehicle inspections / cleanliness
• Follow and comply with all H&S practices, policies and procedures.
• Load and unloading of goods as requested, ensuring proper handling care.
• Ability to handle physical demands of offloading goods.
• Previous experience of loading and securing products while transporting.
• Computer and mobile literate

Salary: £15.15 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 07:00-20:00

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Our drivers are the face of First Fence, you are the final link in the customer journey and key to ensuring that our customers receive a 5 star service each and every time.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Timely and accurate collections/delivery of products throughout the UK whilst adhering to road safety regulations.


• Carry out pre/post vehicle inspections / cleanliness


• Follow and comply with all H&S practices, policies and procedures.


• Load and unloading of goods as requested, ensuring proper handling care.

How you do it:

• No DD, DR's, IN's, TT's.
